i just like to tinker with the bike, its the fastest it can go right now and i use a local bike trail and in the city it is easier to manage and a lot more responsive than any other type of bike.. people on mountain bikes are surprised i can keep up with them unless they really try. biggest gear i can fit on front, smallest cog on back, no pegs. i have a junked mtb, bent rims, brake cables are shot so im just seeing if any of the parts are useable. i would only make it a 6 speed though using the biggest of the front gears, and all the rear for more top end speed.

I'm 6'2" with a 35" inseam. I'm planning on going mtn biking/touring with it. I was thinking of taking it with a BOB trailer and going bicycle camping (like the Continental Divide Trail) at some point... but mostly plan to just do routine mtn biking. In other words, I don't need a super-great competition bike. I need one for comfort (for long-distance rides) but also able to ride and keep up on regular mtn bike rides.

I am going to buy a new mountain bike and i need help on what size of bike frame that fits for me. I am 5 foot 6 and 125 pounds. I am looking at this supercycle bike because it is going for 9.99 because it is such a great price. It comes in bike frame sizes 16 inch and 20 inch. I just would like to know if the 20 inch is too small or perfect sized. Thanks

So me and my friend went down our local ski/Mbike mountain and we would like to get our own bikes (cuz we rented). now we dont want to spend an arm and leg, for now we just want to improve and practice. My racing bike is in need of modernising so I'm going to do it up as a bit of a project. I fancy changing the frame colour - I saw a ford focus RS in orange and fancy doing it in that colour. Has anyone got any tips on the best way to remove the existing paint and the best way to spray it up to make sure the paint doesn't just chip off?

OK I've been out of the hobby for about 12 years and from what I remember the Deore LX stuff was one of the high end back then... does this still apply? What are the worst to the best Deore gears / brakes?

I've been looking for a vintage folding schwinn bike basket, the kind that attaches to the back of your bike. I found one, but it's plus shipping and i'm a bit reluctant to pay that. Anyone have any ideas where I could find one for cheap besides ebay and craigslist?
