you will never believe this but mayonnaise will do the job! put it on and leave it over night, then wipe off. This is not a joke, it really works.
Use washing up liquid and hot water
If it doesn’t come off in soap and hot water buy some sticky stuff remover, it works everytime!
Use warm water. You will still most likely leave a residue. Alcohol is the best way to remove the glue, either methylated spirit or white spirit on a cloth should do it.
If it is a STICKER, then just soak it with WD40, allow it to sit for about an hour, and scrape it off with an old credit card. Reappply the WD40 and rub off any remainder with your finger.
If it is a DECAL, it is probably under clear coat so it will have to be sanded off, probably along with the paint that is under it.
white spirit usually removes gluey deposits… if not, then try lighter fuel (petrol) but be careful, and mindful of the fire risks…
dont use thinners of it might strip th e paint away as well!
do a test on the bottom bracket (crank) where no one will see it first
mayonaise; – sounds gross but it actually works! Rub it in and leave it on for about 20 mins or there abouts.
I swear this works.
Sorry, just noticed the person ahead of me mentioned this.
Try to rub it with vegetable oil ant then scrape it. I tried it with a price sticker on a key chain and it worked well.
I don’t think you can remove it and then all of a sudden there’s no sticky patch. But, to try and take it off I would try sand paper. Just use that over the sticky area for a while until it comes off. I’m pretty sure you can get sand paper like at a hardware store.
=p
Standard Sugar Soap from any DIY store about £2.
Alternitively, the white spirit trick works well.
For an instant fix, get some real lemon juice and mix with vinegar. Also works a treat on windows when cleaned with a newspaper……..try it!
Rubbing alcohol
Lighter fluid
Acetone
Nail polish remover
Goo Gone
WD-40
Use these outside most are flammable and stink.
IMO, removing sticky substances is the only time you should use WD-40 on your bike. It works well for that.
HTH
Turps
Peel off as much as you can then spray with WD40 to remove the sticky gunk.
Take the stickers off and then use Simple Green or a citrus based chain degreaser to take off the adhesive that’s left behind by the sticker.
use a light hair dryer, warm water and a brush then it just comes off easy, works everytime used this method before.
