Trek mountain bikes are great. I wouldn’t trade mine for anything. There are many brands equal to Trek, of course.

yep. Trek is I think a reputable brand.
You can find that out pretty simply by going onto the trek website. When I was considering a race worthy xc bike I was considering a trek fuel ex 8 for around $2000. I ended up buying a cannondale rush, but if people are willing to spend THOUSANDS of dollars on treks higher end bikes, that should tell you a little bit about their decency. Just remember, you get what you pay for.
