I would like to get into the sport and I would like a "good" bike. I was looking into bikes like Specialized, Kona, and Cannondale. Which type and/or model would be the best to buy with a reasonable price.
As cyclo cross bikes are lighter and more aerodynamic than mountain bikes, why don't they get used more in off road events? Other than no suspension, what is to stop me using one in place of a mountain bike in a duathlon event (run, cycle, run)
Carlotta wants to buy a mountain bike. The bike costs 6.38. She plans to make weekly payments of . About how many weeks will it take her to buy the bike?
how many weeks?
My partner and I are about to buy mountain bikes but we won't be riding them cross country as we will have our little one with us most of the time, so we need to know the good brands for riding on flat surfaces, grass and dirt roads, not cross country.
We have a Halfords nearby and we were considering looking there but someone else suggested we find the best brand then shop around for a good second hand bike.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
This seems like an easy question but I have exhaused my options trying to get a mountain bike delivered from up North to way down south (UK).

I am looking for a full suspension mountain bike that has at least 100mm of travel in the forks and also preferably hydraulic disc brakes, but i will settle for mechanical if the bike looks good enough. Any help much appreciated, and ten points for a best answer!
I'm looking to buy a mountain bike to take along some hiking trips, I'd also like for it to be something I could ride around town to run errands, that sort of thing. The price range is anywhere under 0.00. So, basically: COMFORTABLE and AFFORDABLE
If you know anything about this sortof stuff, please let me know. Thank you!
please post the link to the bike, and also, if it helps any - i live in south orange county, ca (if you know of any good cycle stores, please let me know) thanks!
I have spent hours looking at online reviews and have short listed epic and stumpjumper. I ride my saracen mantra 1 to work (10km) its dam heavy( 2.3'' tyres) feels like a land Rover.
Also please recomend a website or a shop around east Anglia, UK.
a very BIG THANKS in advance.
More interested in hardtail bikes as full suspension is too expensive. I was looking at specialized rockhopper pro 2009 which is £850. But is it just the name that is making it expensive or are they really worth it?
I was wondering if anyone knows what type of mountain bike has a Capital "Q" on the front of the frame. I cannot find any other decals or information on the bike except for a "uniweld contruction" on the bottom of the frame. It is a 26" bike, green and silver. We bought it from a lady off of craigslist, however she had received it from someone else and didn't know anything about it. It is a 18 speed, with shocks in the front and back. Anyway, I thought someone may know what the "Q" stands for. Thank you!
i am looking at buying a new mountain bike but not sure what to get.

Gary fisher supercaliber 29 from 2007, its going to cost 1500 dollars + 60 for shipping. how much am I going to end up paying in duties?
I have been looking at this bike and wanted to know if it was any good I don't really do jumps or anything like that but I do a lot of Cross-Country and stuff plus I do a paper round every morning so it needs to last a while I suppose.

I want to get a mountain bike. I don't need anything fancy, just one to ride on the trails where I live. I don't want to spend a lot of money. I'm hoping to stay under 100 bucks. I know that's not gonna get me anything great but that's okay. What brands are good for what I'm looking for and in my price range? And where should I go to look for em?
Thanks
He builds and repairs mountain bikes and wants to work in a store/workshop or for a proffessional .?
I want to buy an Iron Horse 7 Point (Freeride) from "Randall Scott"
Thanks in advance for any help!
I'm looking to spend no more than £800 really but would pay more for the right bike. The area we live in is very hilly so great gear range is a must.
Was looking at hybrid bikes as most of my rides are on the roads but also wanted to be able to have the option of off road as well!
Cheers,

I've got a trek 3900 right now, and its not really performing like i'd like a mountain bike to. I'm definitely investing in disc brakes and a solid fork on the next bike i buy
