Well i mountain bike and i think the best trick is catching air! lol
learn how to pump over and through everything, stay on the inside, pedal like a madman, and never let em see you bleed. lol
Train on the road, race in the dirt.
when jumping try to land on both tires landing on the rear really tears up the bike
dont fall
wear gloves (stops me slippy hands from falling off)
wear protective gear so you can try and fail (w/out crippling yerself). best advice go out with others who are better that you and learn from them
