I am looking for a full suspension mountain bike that has at least 100mm of travel in the forks and also preferably hydraulic disc brakes, but i will settle for mechanical if the bike looks good enough. Any help much appreciated, and ten points for a best answer!

ebay. second hand. i just bought a replacement for my specialized stumpjumper fsr120. it is a felt virtue four. about £1200 NEW. THIS IS LESS THAN A YEAR OLD , DONE ABOUT 150 MILES, LOOKS ALMOST BRAND NEW AND COST ME £505.25
im from america so i dont know how much bikes ell for but if they are close to the amount we pay in the USA then that is definitly not enough, u may be able to find a nice used one for that price. you’ll nedd at least a thousand pounds at the least, if u want hydralic disk brakes then ur looking at about 2000 pounds
i would reccomend a cannondale rush or scapel
hope i helped good luck
a good full suspension bike would probably be an iron horse worrier 4.0 it got marzocchi mz comp, which has 120mm of travel front fork and fox vanilla rear shock. it don’t have hydraulic dick brakes but got tektro ihb with 160mm rotors. its a fairly good bike in my opinion
The answers given are correct. £550 is not enough. However, for this money, you are looking at a viable entry level hardtail. That said, wait a few months and see if you can get any good deals on last years models. I know that, when I bought my bike, a Trek Fuel came up the following week for about £550. Previous years model.
So to answer your question, Trek Fuel, if you can get an older model. However, I would look at spending about £1000. Specialised do a nice full susser for this price band. Failing that, a good value susser would be Scotts MC50.
However, it all depends upon the type of riding that you want to do. If you are after all mountain work, then I would say the Scott. If you want to attack the single track, try the Specialised. If you just want a Comfy ride,, try the Trek.
