I notice Schwinn bikes are a bit cheaper than other brands like Raleigh, Trek, Giant... How does Schwinn compare to the more expensive brands?

Schwinns purchased at a BIKE SHOP are good value for the money. You’ll fing that they tend to have one level better components than Trek or Specialized at the same price. They go pretty much hand in hand with brands like Mongoose (from a bike shop), KHS, Diamondback, and Raleigh.
Roadmaster now owns them so basically they are cheaply made in my opinion. Schwinn doesn’t come close to the brands that you listed.
The bike shop Schwinn’s are good but the Walmart and other big box Schwinn’s are junk. It’s the same way with Mongoose they are both owned by Pacific cycles.

Schwinn now makes junk to gems. If you see it at Walmart, you know it’s junk.
They had wonderful bikes back in the 80′s and 90s but the rapid technology of full suspension and the surge of carbon framed hardtails and all-mountain bikes have made their Schwinn go way behind the competition. Now even GT and Jamis are following the trends of high-zoot bike performance. Great brands are really rocking—Pivot,Commencal, etc. are gaining race fans and will pave the way for better products for riders——-
