I am undecided on which mountain bike to buy for riding around my neighborhood with my son.?
I want something strong & rugged because once in a while we go on some trails. I searched for a review site online. but I cannot find one that gives a reliable list of mountain bikes.

To find a good reliable bike go to your local bike dealer, just stay away from the box stores. Explain to the sales person what type of riding you plan on doing and where. You can check these two sites for reviews and ratings.

I own and like this brand of bikes. They are expensive on the site and also in bike shops but you may be able to find a decent one on craigslist or ebay. I stay away from walmart, kmart type bikes because they don’t use the high quality gear shifts and drive trains. Carbon fiber and Aluminum frames for lightness.

Cannondale makes great MT bikes, I have the Model: RUSH-Z3 but you can get a Rush 5 or 6. It has life time warranty on the frame.

For a cheap price( usually), check out eBay, they probably will have something like that.
Check your local bike store . Or If your local bike store doesn’t carry it then ask for a catalog. Usually everything in the catalog is not in the store.
Or you could always google a bunch of keywords like that.
