I'm 5,11 and weight 240. I saw a bike at Target called the Schwinn Ranger that I really like, but don't know if this is for me.

  1. The only good bikes that Target sells are the Forge bikes. I would look for a good used bike on Ebay or Craig’s list. Look for Trek, Giant, Specialized, Fuji, Raleigh, Cannondale and a few others.

  2. your budget is to loo but if you can buy that bike buy it man but take a RX 100 or RX 135 and that of singapore engine or japan engine bike that more BHP of 17to 18 that good bike from my opinion

  3. well i would save up ur money until u have about $400, then go and buy either a trek 3700,3900,or a cannondale f-9 or f-8

All the bikes at that price are going to be quit miserable in ride quality. Steer away from the cheap target and walmart bikes those are meant for kids and break quit easily. I work in a bike shop and those bikes are brought in broken all the time. The parts are all odd sizes and replacing them is not worth the effort.

Get a specialized. More money but the bike will actually last and pay itself of over time. You will be comfortable on it and by buying form a bike shop you can be fitted for it. It would be like 400 dollars but it will last twice as long. Take a look at http://www.specialized.com

DO NOT BUY A BIKE AT A DEPARTMENT STORE!!!
this will be the biggest waste of money … that $200 would be better served buying cigarettes and beer! (just kidding!!)
    find a local bike shop
    buy a USED bike.
you should be able to find a bike that suits your style and your budget that has been properly assembled and comes with some type of warranty!
    smiles
