Is Dicks Sporting Goods a good place to buy a mountain bike?
I have always been buying the walmart bikes and they have always sucked. I saw a mountain bike that I liked at dicks. Are there any good brands I should or should not look into? I hear diamond back is pretty good. I don't really want to pay more then 0. Is dicks good to buy from?

The bikes sold at D!ck’s Sporting Goods are the same brands as the ones sold at Walmart, such as Diamondback and Mongoose.
You will probably be just as disappointed with a bike from D!ck’s as the one you got from Walmart.
Like the above guy says, go to a bike shop. They tend to have better bikes with the proper size frame for you, rather than the one-size-fits-all frames at D!cks or Walmart.
What do you have against an actual bike shop? Where they might actually know something about…… BIKES!

The answer is NO, Dick’s is a sporting goods store, but they are NOT a bicycle shop. They are slightly above Wal-Mart, but are still considered a department store in the cycling world.
Go to a real bicycle shop where professionals build your ride, not a stoned stock boy who doubles as the golf salesman.
