I just want to know if there Is a a difference between the to in quality and how long Magna has been around.

There is a big difference between Magna and Schwinn even at discount stores. The Schwinn has a much better support system and tend to be better built- but they are also usually more expensive.
Magna, not to put too much of a point on it, are junk.
Magna, owned by Diversified Investment Corporation (they may have been bought out by Kent- a bike company owned by Walmart), has been around since about 1985 or so.
Magna bikes are poor quality.
Schwinn has a line of bikes that sells at Walmart and Target. Those are also not that good, although I would rather get one of those than the Magna.
Schwinn also has a line of higher quality bikes not sold at Walmart or Target.
I see Schwinns being ridden on the road.
I see Magnas decorating garages.
Magna Invader kid’s bike bought at Target 2 years ago, my son hardly rides it, it has less than 5 miles and the rear gear is broke. It’s Junk!
