I want to buy a men's mountain bike to do some light trail riding. Im not looking for anything too spectacular, just something that is decent quality and isn't going to fall apart on me.
Any suggestions on brands and specific models?

I would check out gary fisher and trek. They both have good bikes and range from cheap to lots.
