The 6th of july, that is Frances anual bath night so should be quiet then.
June is the best time to go as most french companies don’t take their holidays till July , meaning most hotels will be empty so you can get better rates .i would recommend going to the Mount Blanc region as food is cheap and there are hundreds of miles of off road trails and some really good bike shops,chamonix is a cool place to stay.campsites around chaminix allow turn up and book and the towns tourism center will get you the best rates on lift passes and camping, contrary to most rumors the people there are very friendly
