The current economical situation brings more and more people to look for used street bikes for sale because of two main reasons: The first one is that its cheaper, healthier and much cooler to drive on bikes instead of cars. Now with all those small bike parking lots that lets you park your bikes, change clothes and take a shower before you go to your office its even more easy and convenient to drive your bikes to work. The second reason is that you don’t need to invest so much money in new street bikes when you can get the same bikes in a very good condition for much much less. Many people today need money and so they sell their used street bikes even if the bikes are in a very good condition.

So what do you need to pay attention to when you buy used bikes: you must check the frame which is the most important part of the bikes – does it look ok? Is it broken in different places? Is the paint new or old? That will give you an indication if the previous owner took good care of his bikes or not. If he did then the used street bikes can be even in a better condition than the old ones since that owner probably repaired damages that were created by the manufacture. Some owners even add cool and great gadgets to their bikes with the years and you can enjoy all of these advantages.

You must also make sure that you can trust the seller, you can ask a few questions about the bikes to see if they are right for you or not. I personally prefer to shop for used street bikes at eBay, that how I know that I am completely covered and have nothing to worry about besides finding the right bikes for the best price.

I like to bike on Bike paths and on Side streets for fitness. Maybe 50-70 miles a week. I weigh 210, So I figure mountain bikes would be more durable. I usually buy Mountain bikes for 0 or so from places like Walmart or K-mart. That being said I am looking for a better Quality bike, Somewhere between 200-350. I am most concerned about safety and durability....Should I buy a High quality Used bike from E-bay,,,,I high end Model from a Walmart,,,Or should I go to a Bike shop and buy a Entry level Bike???...I wen't to Bert's bikes in Tonawanda NY and they recomended a Trek-820 for 329.99 with free lifetime service.. Sounded pretty good....So I figured I would ask the Smart riders of Yahoo Answers for some Good Advices...Thanks!!!!

I have 400 bucks to spend on a mountain bike. What kind should i buy? Should I buy it online instead of a possible overpriced bike shop?

they look so nice and good for the money....i need a bike, should i get one of those? instead of paying 3 times as much at a bike shop?

It broke and I can not find any for sale with that name. Is that a generic name. I found 6 different altus derailleurs but none with the A20 on it.
What can I do besides consult with a bike shop. I was hoping to order the part online and save a trip the bike shop.
