So there's a bike sale for last year's models I could save 0 bucks of off a 0 mountain bike. My wife said it's too expensive still and that I shouldn't buy it and look for a used one on craigslist for way less money. I really like this one and i'm saving a good chunk of change. What would you do?

I like to bike on Bike paths and on Side streets for fitness. Maybe 50-70 miles a week. I weigh 210, So I figure mountain bikes would be more durable. I usually buy Mountain bikes for 0 or so from places like Walmart or K-mart. That being said I am looking for a better Quality bike, Somewhere between 200-350. I am most concerned about safety and durability....Should I buy a High quality Used bike from E-bay,,,,I high end Model from a Walmart,,,Or should I go to a Bike shop and buy a Entry level Bike???...I wen't to Bert's bikes in Tonawanda NY and they recomended a Trek-820 for 329.99 with free lifetime service.. Sounded pretty good....So I figured I would ask the Smart riders of Yahoo Answers for some Good Advices...Thanks!!!!
is their any chance i can get a pretty great or decent mountain bike under 200 dollars i am not a expert so i am not planning on buying anything over that amount 400 and above is for more experienced and im wondering where and is their any possiblity i can buy a mountain bike at a store like toys r us or sport chalet or walmart?

Have GT mountain bikes really turned to crap? I rode the new i-force 1.0 and loved it but I've heard the GT sold out and started making bikes to be sold at walmart. Is this horrible piece of info true? Basically i'm looking for a good bike I can tear it up on that I can still climb up the mountain on. Opinions? Do DH bikes have lower gears to climb with?
I bought this bike for like 70 something bucks at Walmart more than a year ago. At first it was fine but then it started giving me headaches. Stuff started to get loose and no matter how many times I tightened it it started to fall apart again.I want to get a new one, but I don't want to spend too much money.
