I got mine a Wal-Mart. Feel good about it. But tires a little thin on road bike thinner than most road bikes and skid out a little when turning. Also why do I always need to adjust handlebars by rotating? Also why usually need to raise handlebars also? Why don't they just make them rotated?

It isn’t the thinness of the tires that cause the skidding, it’s the quality. The cheaper tires are harder to last longer but reduces traction. I run narrower tires than on the Wal-Mart Schwinn and have never had a problem.
I believe schwinn is the best i’ve grown up only using schwinn.
wat do u think?
I haven’t biked for awhile. Scwinn was in though when I did.
I think bikes are for Sissys
Schwinn was a good bike but several years back went bad. Its ok for just riding, but personally I prefer Trek and other bikes from Bike stores where I know I get quality.
Wal-mart as well as other major chains have independent companies come in and "build" their bikes for them. It could be that the person that built your bike didn’t do such as great job at it. This only applies if you bought the bike preassembled. If you put the bike together yourself, you might want to recheck all of your nuts, and bolts to make sure that they are tighten well, but not too much as for they will strip out. As for the tires being thin, I did notice that they are on the thin side, but I don’t think that there are any other sizes that you can get. I guess that you would just have to make adjustments to your turning habits, etc. I would assume too that you have the proper size bike for your height (ie, 24", or 26")?? As far as why don’t they make them rotated is up to the company to decide. You might could call them and make a suggestion, but I’m not sure if you would make an impact by doing so. It wouldn’t hurt to try though. To see if the bike was assembled, and when, look for a little sticker either on the back of the seat post, or the spine by the crank. Usually companies will put these stickers there to identify who built it, and when. Hope this helps you!!
Schwinn makes some fine bikes. But eeek, you should **never** need to adjust your handelbars unless you are changing them out, or adjusting the fit.
Get thee to your local bike shop, have them check the fit and put this bike together right
Big box stores like Walmart hire…whatever…whoever to put these bikes together. Untrained, illequiped, knowing less than nothing about bikes, these bikes are dangerously poorly put together.
You would not buy a car put together by somone who knows less than nothing about cars?
Find a local shop near you and have them check the bike.
I highly doubt the tires are thinner than most. I ride 25 cm road tires. Cornering takes practice. Is there a local bike club near you that has organised rides? that would be enjoyable and a good way to learn.
Just like driving control your speed into the turn, not necessarily by using brakes, sit more upright, slow the pedaling,
if you need to brake use the rear first, lean into the turn-use your body don’t jerk on the bars, accelerate out.
Schwinn was founded in 1895! If they arent a great company they never would have lasted this long
Overall, Schwinn is OK, but no where near the best.
Never buy a bike you will be seriously riding from a store like WalMart. Always go to a proper bike shop if you will be riding a lot.
Before the Scott and then the Pacific Cycle buy-out of the Schwinn name they were all I rode. I have a Fuji Shang-ri-la and a Haro Extreme in addition to my old Schwinns. I love my old Schwinn Prelude, PDG 30 Paramount and Tandem; they’re a pleasure to ride.
I have a Schwinn Rockett 88 Mountain bike and its the best bike I’ve ever ridden, its so smooth and fast and rocks going uphill in the worst terrain
Pacific bicycle owns Schwinn now! They believe in making Chinese trash!
Schwinn is dead you got ripped off, take it back to Wal-Crap and go to a bike shop!!!!!!
