Wondering if the Trek 3700 is worth the money. Any suggestions?
The bike is for a young friend. He and his buddies are maniacs. Is there a bike for under 0 that's more suitable? Or, does he have to save and spend more?

It’s fine. Trek makes good stuff across their product line. When you get under $300, no matter what brand, you’re giving up some quality, but it’s still going to roll when you pedal it.
Much depends on what kind of riding you want to do. Have you stopped into a bike shop to see all the options?
