My husband and I would like to buy entry level mountain bikes. Hubby is 6ft3 and I'm 5ft1 so both of us need to consider frame size and would like to try before we buy. Do bike shops do second hand? Anything we need to be looking for when we inspect a bike? Any recommendations and all advice gratefully received.

A second hand mountain bike shop? In the UK? Try ebay.

freecycle site you could be able to get one for free!!!!

  3. You could try the West Howe area of Bournemouth. The kids on the estate always seem to have a never ending supply of mountain bikes for sale, amongst many other things!

Rutland Water has bike shops that are second to none. However you will pay top whack. Otherwise there is a shop in Fakenham that is pretty good.

  5. Have you considerd Hamburg ?? with Rayan air to Dublin for 1 EUR to Lubeck for 1 EUR to Hamburg by train for 20 EUR buy a bike and back by bike 0.00 Eur (ok you must be a good swimmer).

  6. Try the Oxford Cycle Workshop, they don’t specialize in mountain bikes but all their bikes are second hand.

    Otherwise try these:
